Mentoring is the cornerstone of 100 Black Men of West Texas (The 100) and its network of over 100 Chapters. The social, cultural, emotional, and unique needs of youth, primarily African American males, are addressed through one-to-one and group mentoring relationships by 100 Black Men chapter members.

The mission of our organization is to improve the quality of life for all residents of Lubbock, Texas and West Texas with emphasis on empowering African-Americans. Our motto is "What they see is what they will be." Applicants are required to submit an essay (750 -2000 words) using the prompt, "My vision for how I will contribute to fulfilling this mission and motto in my life is...."

I understand that I must maintain full-time college student status to continue to be eligible for this scholarship. Scholarship funds may be distributed in half amounts for the school year (half each semester). If selected to receive this scholarship, I further understand that I must maintain a “C” average (2.0) for the first semester to be eligible for the balance of funds. I certify that the information that I provided above is correct and accurate. I further understand that if any information that I have submitted herein is determined to be false, I will be disqualified from further participation in this program.
